Project Overview :
This research project ran from 2003-07, and predated the main series of PANdora projects by two years. It was aimed at using information and communication technology (ICT) to support the Distance Teacher Education Programme (DTEP) at the Samtse College of Education in Bhutan, in order to enhance learning support and access.
The project involved the development of:
an ICT-based internal networking system for SCE, including application programs for registration, learning support, exams; developing manuals on computer system maintenance; conducting training for computer system maintenance etc.;
a web-based academic information system providing student records; and an institutional web site containing information on organizational structure, programme, curriculum, and course descriptions, registration form, independent study strategies, academic calendar, assignments, announcement of grades, profiles of tutors and counselors, student guide for taking advantage of resources on the internet; and
course materials using online and traditional media.
